A wonderfully detailed vintage porcelain fruit plate with the kind of decorative craftsmanship that makes vintage china so much fun to collect. This piece features a hand-painted strawberry and blossom design framed by a sculptural pierced/reticulated border of individually molded leaves, finished with a softly scalloped gilt rim.

The overall look is romantic, botanical, and unmistakably mid-century. It would be equally charming displayed in a china cabinet, styled on a shelf, or used as a decorative dessert or fruit plate.

The form and decoration closely match documented Betson hand-painted Japanese porcelain pieces, including an 8-inch fruit plate with a reticulated leaf border and gold trim.

Condition

Good Vintage Condition — Preloved

The plate presents beautifully with bright glossy porcelain, attractive hand-painted decoration, intact molded leaf elements, and a lovely gilt border.

There is age-appropriate wear to the gold finish, including areas of thinning/loss visible along the rim. There are also minor signs of age/handling visible in the photographs. I do not see an obvious major chip or crack in the supplied photos.

Because this is delicate reticulated porcelain, please review all photographs carefully. The photographs are part of the condition description.
